The Difference Between Being An Entrepreneur & Working A 9-5
When you have a corporate 9-5 and go to an office, you have an opportunity to interact with others. You can exchange ideas, commiserate when things go wrong, and celebrate when there’s a win. As a business owner, you’re often wearing every hat there is and you have no one to brainstorm with or practice a sales pitch to and much more. Being a business owner can be very lonely if you don’t make sure you surround yourself with the right people.
The 5 People You Need In Your Business
The 5 people you need in your life are a supportive spouse or partner, a mentor or coach, a mentee, someone who is at the same place in their business as you are in yours, and a motivator. These 5 people are who will support you, be honest with you, help you grow, and keep you grounded all at the same time.
Finding Support & Being Supportive
When it comes to finding a mentor, reach out to people who have been where you are and have done it before. Look at your circle of friends and see who is already fitting into these categories for you already. Join groups or meetups and meet new people who are on the same business journey that you are and make friends with them. At the same time, remember to be the person you are looking for, for someone else. Relationships should always be a give and take and not one-sided.
Don’t forget to acknowledge and thank those in your life who are supporting you!
