From Wedding Photographer to Online Business Owner
After years of photographing back to back weddings, Majesta realized the amount of time it took away from her family. She felt burnt out and started contemplating what else she could do. Majesta was passionate about being a mom, raising babies, and running a business at the same time. She realized her purpose was to work with mompreneurs to help them find balance and ease in what they do.
Majesta is now assisting women in clarifying their business, getting real with their intention and planning, and moving the needle in their businesses. She’s sharing tangible productivity resources and hacks that you can implement along with how to create boundaries that will help you pivot and sustain your business. If that’s not all, Majesta is also diving into time management!
Importance Of Creating Boundaries In Your Business
Majesta and I discuss how to be proactive and intentional in approaching your business as a mom AND business owner. Majesta describes how the pivot process starts with your mindset. She explains how mindset practices, morning routines, and meditation are the basics of what we need to get our mind right.
Mindset practices are essential in maintaining momentum and motivation. These practices keep you focused on your goals while building your dream business. Majesta offers that journaling helps you stay on track to express your thoughts and feelings while creating a routine. She recommends The Five-Minute Journal as a great starting journal with prompts, gratitude, affirmations, and more. She shares with us how important it is to get it all out into a journal and out of your head.
How Boundaries Will Help You Sustain The Longevity Of Your Business And Your Sanity
Months after having her first baby, Majesta realized she was focused on creating a perfect schedule for her baby but hadn’t created a schedule for herself. She was stressed out and knew that her family needed structure in their week, so she created a Family Schedule Guide. Developing and planning out her and her husband’s working hours, and when family time was mandated, helped establish a routine for her family. Majesta explains that habits and planning with intention help you to create boundaries. Giving yourself permission when to work and when to shut off is vital for preserving your sanity and sustaining your business’ longevity.
As a mom who wants to work, time management and productivity methods lead you to a place where you can grow your business and be available for your family. Majesta’s advice is to develop a schedule that you and your partner agree on. You need to make intentional decisions about when you can be productive and get your work done. She shares that she themes her days and focuses on a specific part of her business.
Majesta describes how she uses Toggl to track what she is working on. This time audit makes it clear where you are investing your time. She further shares how she uses the Pomodoro method and works in 25-minute increments. These tools allow for an intense workday, and it’s her favorite way to get things done.
Are you ready to create a space that includes more balance and time for yourself?
