Genevieve’s journey to releasing her debut novel
Genevieve tells us about how she had started her career by doing some freelance writing, and always had the dream of one day writing a book but just didn’t know what story she would tell. She had written a freelance article about an Instagram influencer which got the attention of an editor who approached Genevieve to write a proposal based on Instagram culture, but after that book didn’t get picked up, she used her own experiences and some real-life aspects from a crazy year to pour her heart into what has now become a huge success, Adelaide.
Genevieve’s connection to London
How it feels to have such a successful first novel
Genevieve shares with us how surreal and wonderful it feels to have people reading and connecting with her book and Adelaide, and how she finds it hard to wrap her head around since there is so much of herself in the book. She also talks about all the wonderful messages she receives from people who reach out to her telling her how they connected with it and how much it meant to them. She tries to respond to them all as much as she can, because she feels like it is such a gift for someone to take the time to read it, enjoy it, and feel compelled to reach out. It’s such a lovely gesture.
