Setting boundaries to protect your time
Sometimes we want to be so accommodating that we will cram so much into one day to fit around someone else’s schedule in order to make things work, but what about you? It may seem like a good idea to book meetings all day because that’s when it’s convenient for everyone else, but is that convenient for you? It might seem efficient, but are you present in those meetings if you’re mentally exhausted? how much are you really contributing or accomplishing? Michelle talks about how your time is precious too, and we have to set boundaries in order to protect it. We can be accommodating without dismissing our own priorities.

So, you’ve set your boundaries, you’ve told yourself that you need Mondays free from meetings to focus on other things, now what? Michelle talks about how we need to really be honest with ourselves and think about how we are spending the time we have. You were able to block off time to focus, and that’s great, but how are you spending that time? You need to make sure you are using that time efficiently and not squandering it.
